Available only during the festival weekend, this 90-minute special tour offers a unique opportunity to complement your day of food, wine, and music with an unforgettable journey through Stratford Hall’s historic Great House. Led by the Vice President of Research and Collections and Director of the Jessie Ball duPont Library, Dr. Gordon Steffey. This intimate experience explores the history and stories that shaped Stratford Hall. Along the way, you’ll gain deeper insight into the people who lived and labored here, the legacy, and the role Stratford Hall played in American history. And, finish the tour with a special toast! Begins at 8:30am on Saturday, and 9:30am on Sunday. Meet at the Great House West Stairs.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Stratford Hall’s East Garden, where you’ll experience the stories behind the landscape, learn about the property’s historic plantings and seasonal blooms, and explore how the garden has evolved over time. This relaxing 60-minute walking tour offers a unique perspective on the estate’s natural beauty and rich history while providing plenty of opportunities for photos and questions. Begins at 1pm both days. Meet at the East stairs.

Elevate your festival experience with this exclusive 45-minute guided wine and oyster tasting. Discover the art of pairing exceptional wines with fresh Chesapeake oysters as your hosts guide you through unique flavor profiles, tasting techniques, and the influence of terroir and merroir on each pairing. Throughout the experience, you’ll also explore the rich culinary history of the colonial Chesapeake, learning how oysters, wine and regional food traditions shaped life along Virginia waterways. This intimate opportunity blends education history, and exceptional local flavors into a one-of-a kind experience. Begins at 4pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. Meet at the Visitor Center 15 minutes before start time for transportation to the Cheek House. Transportation will be provided from the Cheek House back to the Visitor Center concluding the event.
