Plan Your Virginia Day Trip

Hours

  • Normal visitor hours - daily from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Great House tours - (on the hour) - 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Gift Shop - 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily
  • Stratford Hall Dining Room open from 11:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Mondays). Please check calendar for special event closings.
  • Jessie Ball duPont Memorial Library is open to researchers (by appointment only) on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The Gristmill is scheduled to be open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, April through October, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call Stratford Hall's Visitor Center to confirm whether or not the mill or mill road will be open.
  • Nature trails are open during normal visitor hours.

Winter hours begin Saturday, January 2, 2010. The Great House and Visitor Center will be open on weekends only (Saturdays and Sundays) and holidays until March 1, when the normal schedule resumes. The Dining Room will be open only for catered events. The Gift Shop will be closed until January 16, when it will open on weekends and holidays as a combined gift shop/cafe that will offer a selection of sandwiches and beverages. Please check our calendar before visiting in January and February. Grounds passes will be sold daily at the ticket house to visitors who want to hike nature trails and walk the grounds, or who wish to visit the gift shop/cafe on weekends.

  • Adults (12 yrs. and up): $10.00
  • Adults (Groups of 20 or more, age 12 and up): $9.00
  • Seniors, Active Military, AAA members: $9.00
  • National Trust for Historic Preservation members: $9.00
  • Children 6-11: $5.00
  • Children (groups of 20 or more): $4.50
  • Children 5 and under: Free

NEW! A Grounds Pass can now be purchased which entitles the purchaser to access the hiking trails, public beach area, gardens and public grounds. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Those visitors whose only purpose is to go to the Plantation Dining Room or Store can pay for a Grounds Pass and the fee will be applied to their purchases of $5 and up in the Plantation Dining Room or Store. The grounds ticket cannot be refunded in whole or in part. It may be applied toward a purchase at the Plantation Store, toward lunch served in the Dining Room, or toward a tour of the Great House. The Grounds Pass will be valid only for the day it is purchased.
