A Fun Festival for the Whole Family!![]()

Wine Tasting by Virginia's Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail includes: Athena Vineyards & Winery, Belle Mount Vineyards, The Hague Winery, Ingleside Vineyards, Oak Crest Vineyard & Winery, and Vault Field Vineyards. Featured Bluegrass Music bands are Carl Brown and the Blades of Bluegrass and Leon Morris & Associates. Delicious food is being prepared by: Sho-Nuff Barbeque, Corotoman Hunt Club, CJ's Soft Serve Ice Cream, Lions Club, Sweet Harvest Festival Food, and Stratford Hall Dining Room (Dining Room will be open). Kids Activities include: Petting Zoo by Eastern Henrico Animal Education, Hayrides, Face Painting, and a Scavenger Hunt. Local Farm Products include: bison and pork by Edmonds Farm, organic beef by Pampatike Hill Farms, and goat cheese by Lovers Retreat Dairy. Sketch artist Phil McKenney will draw caricatures at the Peoples Community Bank Booth from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Michael Twitty will give demonstrations of African American foodways in the Old Kitchen (southwest outbuilding near Great House). Dr. Doug Sanford and students from the University of Mary Washington's Historic Preservation Department will interpret the findings of the summer 2009 field school near the southwest edge of the Oval. Participating artisans and craftsmen include: Camillo Valley Alpacas (animals and woolen items), Locust Farm Windsors (chairs), Dixie Outfitters, Kiss My Glass, Lia Sophia Jewelry, Silk Road Treasures, Rita Schepmoes (crafts), Steve Sullivan (crafts), Williamsburg Leather Reproductions (demonstration and leather goods), Ann Hill Williams (children's clothing), Primrose Products (Fun Wine Gifts), Dezns By Sasscee (Handmade Jewelry), Northern Neck Seafood (food products, dips), Carolyn Nichols (guitar instruction), The Robins Nest (Handmade soaps, candles and glass bead bracelets), and Mary Ann Hansen (floral arrangements). Artists Claudia Proto McDermott and Sheila Ford will display their works, and Robert Mouland will portray an 18th-century musician. The Northern Neck Historical Society and Westmoreland County Schools will have educational booths with information. Register in the Stratford Gift Shop to win a Gift Basket (retail value $75).
