Stratford Hall Announces Winter Operating Schedule
STRATFORD, VA, (December 20, 2011) – Beginning on January 2, 2012, Stratford Hall will institute its winter operating schedule. The grounds will be open daily to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A grounds pass is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
The Great House will be open for tours in January and February only on weekends, holidays and Robert E. Lee’s birthday. The Gift Shop and Café will follow the same schedule. The road to the beach and the gristmill will be open weather permitting. The nature trails continue to be closed due to Hurricane Irene damage.
The Stratford Hall Dining Room is closed for the season to the public for lunch and will reopen on March 15, 2012. It remains available for group events by reservation.
The Great House, Gift Shop and Café will return to daily operation on March 1, 2012.
During the winter operating schedule Stratford will be offering four programs including Birding at Stratford: Left Out in the Cold by Andrew Dolby on January 14; Robert E. Lee’s Birthday Celebration on January 19; Reading Lee with Elizabeth Brown Pryor on January 21 at Kenmore; and Reflections on Black History: Telling One Story, Part 1 on February 25 at A.T. Johnson Museum.
