Stratford Hall Announces New Winter Operating Schedule

      

STRATFORD, VA, (December 20, 2016) – Beginning on January 2, 2017, Stratford Hall will institute a new winter operating schedule that will run through February 28, 2017. Both the grounds and the Great House will be open daily to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We believe this schedule will give visitors the opportunity to experience Stratford Hall at a time of year that lends itself to more leisurely, personal experiences” said John Bacon, Stratford’s President, in announcing the schedule. “We hope Stratford’s friends from near and far will take advantage of this opportunity to visit.”

Admission to the grounds and the Great House during this period will be the cost of a grounds pass, $7 for adults and $5 for children. The road to the beach and the gristmill, as well as the nature trails, will be open, weather permitting.

Both the Dining Room and the Gift Shop will be open Thursday through Sunday during January and February. The Dining Room will be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the Gift Shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Dining Room remains available for group events by reservation.

All facilities will be open during the Monday federal holidays in January and February: Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 16, 2017, and Presidents’ Day, February 20, 2017.

Stratford Hall’s lodging will continue to be open during January and February with rooms available in the Cheek and Astor guest houses.
