Effective Monday, March 16, Stratford Hall will be closed to the public through Sunday, March 29.
Stratford Hall continues to closely monitor the status of COVID-19 and follow the guidance of federal, state and local officials. While there are no confirmed cases connected to Stratford Hall, we are proceeding with an abundance of caution for the well-being of visitors, staff and our surrounding community. We will evaluate this status as we approach the end of the month and plan to re-open as soon as public health conditions allow, which we hope will be on Monday, March 30.
Accordingly, Stratford Hall’s indoor and outdoor experiences and spaces are closed to the public. This closure includes the Visitor Center, Great House guided tours and audio tours, library, gift shop, as well as lodging and dining facilities. Grounds Passes will not be available for visits to the garden, cliffs overlook, beach and nature trails. We are intent on doing our part to flatten the curve and contribute to the resolution of the current emergency.
During the next two weeks, we will support our mission of educating and inspiring people about Virginia’s and America’s past through our social media channels. Please continue to connect with us.
We will update the website and social media with the latest information on operating conditions and appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging time.

The tour includes music, background noises, and actors portraying some of the characters who lived at Stratford Hall. Tours are self-guided, self-paced, and available during normal business hours. Length of tour is 75 minutes spread over 28 stops. Visitors can choose where and what they want to see and hear as they walk through the historic grounds and house.
