Robert E. Lee Symposium on Civil War HistoryWhen:From: Jan 22, 2010 @ 3:00 PM to Jan 24, 2010 @ 6:00 PM Description:This is Stratford Hall's second symposium dedicated to the further study of General Robert E. Lee and various issues relating to the American Civil War. The program will include tours of the Gettysburg Battlefield. As with our other Robert E. Lee programming, the symposium is being generously supported by the Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation. Again the focus will be on Robert E. Lee as a general and the use of primary documents in uncovering new dimensions to Civil War personalities. A description of the symposium and registration form are available on Stratford's web site. On Friday, Jan. 22, Dr. Gary Gallagher will give a lecture "The Most Important Confederate: General Lee's Impact on the Battlefield and Home Front" at 7:30 p.m. in the Council House. This lecture will be open to the public for $10 per person. Lecture attendees are also welcome to register for the dinner prior to the talk. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Stratford Dining Room and attendees can pay $50 to cover both the talk and dinner. Reservations must be made with Laura Lawfer for the lecture and dinner.
